Experience
I worked in Web development at the University of Cincinnati, Cincinnati, Ohio for seven years first for the University Libraries and then as part of the University's main Web team working on a variety of the school's most visible sites. In 2005, I retired from the university and started my own Web design business.
I am a programmer as well as a designer. I create most of my websites from templates that I develop myself. At the University of Cincinnati, I worked with Classic ASP on the "front-end" and Microsoft SQLServer on the backend. I now use open source technologies in my business, using PHP on the front-end and MySQL on the backend. I also work with JavaScript. I have a lot of experience with CSS (Cascading Stylesheets).
I am very comfortable with Photoshop and use it for most of my original graphics.
I am also comfortable with Dreamweaver.
Many of my sites use WordPress for which I have developed my own themes.
I currently give back to my community by managing the website for a well-known Cincinnati non-profit, Community Shares of Greater Cincinnati.
